Get to know the best of Portugal from north to south, starting from Lisbon or Porto. This private tour allows you to explore Portugal at your own pace in comfort and safety.
Itinerary includes visits to Lisbon, Sintra, Óbidos, Fátima, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto, Aveiro, Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, Ponte de Lima, Amarante, and the Douro Valley region.
Day 1 – Sintra, Óbidos and Fatima
Departing from Lisbon, we will first visit Sintra, stroll through the historic center of this UNESCO World Heritage village, and explore its palaces. There will be time to taste Sintra’s famous Queijadas and shop at local stores.
Next, we will head to Óbidos to explore this historic village. Protected by its walls and crowned by a castle, Óbidos is one of the best-preserved examples of medieval architecture in Portugal. As we wander through the narrow, flower-lined streets, we’ll stop to sample Óbidos' famous Ginja served in a chocolate cup.
Fátima, a major center of the Catholic faith. We will visit the sanctuaries and the Chapel of Apparitions. There will be time to attend a Mass if desired and visit the home of the three shepherd children who witnessed the apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima. At night you can watch the candlelight procession which takes place every day at 9:30 pm

Day 2 - Tomar, Coimbra, and Porto
Leaving Fatima, we’ll head north. Our first stop is
Next, we will travel to Tomar, the former headquarters of the Knights Templar in Portugal. We will visit the Castle and the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll explore the convent gardens and discover the hidden corners of this Renaissance masterpiece.
Continuing to Coimbra, we will visit the University of Coimbra, founded in 1290 and one of the oldest in the world, as well as its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Arriving in Porto, we will check into your hotel for the night.
Day 3 - Aveiro and Porto
Starting from Porto, we will first explore the city. We will walk through its streets and along the Ribeira, visit the Port wine cellars, cross the D. Luis Bridge, visit São Bento Station, Lello Bookstore, Clérigos Tower, Porto Cathedral, Aliados Avenue, and other key landmarks. There will be time to taste the famous “Francesinha” dish.
After lunch, we will go to Aveiro, known as the Portuguese Venice. We’ll take a boat ride on a traditional moliceiro through the city’s canals and visit Costa Nova. There will also be time to taste the unique “Ovos Moles” of Aveiro.
Return to Porto at the end of the day. Sleep in Porto or Braga
Day 4 - Braga and Guimarães
Leaving from Porto, we will first head to Braga, known as the Portuguese Rome. With over 2000 years of history, this Baroque capital deserves a visit. We will go to Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and stroll through the historic center. We’ll taste Bacalhau à Braga and visit Braga Cathedral, the oldest in Portugal, dating back to 1070.
After Braga, we will go to Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal and home to its first king, Afonso Henriques. This is one of the most important cities in Portugal, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will visit the Castle, which is over 1000 years old, the Dukes’ Palace, and the historic center.
Return to Porto/Braga at the end of the day.
Day 5 - Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, and Ponte de Lima
Departing from Porto, our first stop is Barcelos, associated with the legend of the Barcelos Rooster, a symbol of Portugal. We will stroll through its historic center.
Next, we will go to Viana do Castelo, the jewel of the Minho region. We will visit the Santa Luzia Sanctuary, enjoying one of the world’s best views, where sea, mountains, and city come together. We’ll walk through the historic center and taste the famous Berlin Balls.
We will then head to Ponte de Lima, the oldest village in Portugal. We’ll cross its Roman Bridge, over 2000 years old, and explore its well-preserved medieval gardens and historic center.
Return to Porto/Braga at the end of the day.
Day 6 - Amarante and the Douro Valley
Leaving Porto, our first stop is Amarante, where we will visit the Church of São Gonçalo. We’ll stroll through its streets and taste the city’s traditional convent sweets.
Next, we will head to Peso da Régua, the capital of the Douro region. Traveling along the N222 road, considered one of the best driving routes in the world, we’ll reach Pinhão. After visiting Pinhão Station, we’ll have the opportunity to take a boat cruise on the Douro River and marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage landscapes of this wine-producing region. We will visit a Port wine estate, taste the sweet nectar of Port Wine, and visit some viewpoints offering breathtaking views of vineyards and the river.
Return to Porto/Braga at the end of the day, marking the end of our services.

It’s possible to start the tour in Porto, visit the same locations over the 6 days, and finish in Lisbon.
Since the tour is private, we can adjust the days and itineraries to suit participants’ preferences. The described locations and landmarks are just a few of the sites we will visit, tailored to your interests and preferences. Everything will be done at your pace with no time limits. We’ll have ample time for photography, culinary experiences, and other personalized activities. If you wish to add, change, or remove any part of the tour, it will be arranged according to your wishes.
Travel and Accommodation Details
The trip will be conducted in an 8-seater Mercedes Van with all the comfort and safety features. The van is unmarked, with tinted windows, and we never publish photos or reveal the identities of our participants. You can travel in complete anonymity and privacy.
Hotels are not included in the price; you choose the category according to your preference. If you wish, we can suggest our partners, but the choice is yours.
Meals are not included in the price. We can recommend restaurants we know and trust, but again, the decision is yours.
